The April Alliance Treaty was a bilateral partnership concluded on 17 April 2026 between █████ (The Mastermind) and █████. It formalised and strengthened relations that had developed since September 2025, and remained in force until █████ announced its termination on 24 June 2026.[1]
Background
The treaty followed the early fractures of January–March 2026, during which loyalty and alignment became decisive criteria within the wider coalition. It was in part an attempt to place bilateral relations on a firmer footing.
Provisions
No verbatim text survives. The archive records that the treaty formalised a special bilateral relationship distinguished from ordinary diplomatic relations, and that it implied reciprocal consideration between the parties.
Tensions
Between April and June the parties held conflicting expectations concerning diplomatic cooperation. The difference between bilateral diplomacy and multilateral coalition commitments became the principal source of friction, and the growing influence of the wider coalition left several disputes unresolved.
Termination
On 24 June 2026 the special arrangement was declared terminated and ordinary relations were proposed. █████ rejected the downgrade, and relations collapsed. See June 24 Crisis.
Legacy
The treaty is regarded as the high-water mark of bilateral relations before the war, and its collapse as the proximate cause of the conflict.
