Behind The Masks (abbreviated BTM) is an independent alliance and one of the two principal belligerents in the Mulock War. Its political alignment is described as Independent Alliance. It is led jointly by █████ (The Mastermind), known as The Mastermind, and █████, known as The Director.
The alliance emerged during the Summer Blockade and consolidated during the October Realignment. On 31 October 2026 it launched Operation Night Fury against The Big 3.
Name and symbolism
The name reflects an emphasis on independence from coalition structures. The emblem combines a divided mask, a crown, two chess knights, a compass star and laurel branches, and is a symbol of dual command.
Origins
The alliance grew out of the independent orientation present in the original diplomatic network of 2025. Following the June 24 Crisis, █████ continued to receive the support of █████ through the blockade, and the group's identity strengthened as the opposing coalition applied pressure.
Leadership
Behind The Masks is led by two co-equal commanders: The Mastermind (█████) and The Director (█████). █████ rejoined █████ in the October Realignment after a temporary alignment with the opposing coalition.
