Start date of the war

Archivist-1: Is 24 June 2026 or 31 October 2026 the start date?
Editor: The infobox gives both: the diplomatic rupture (24 June) and open hostilities (31 October). The lead follows the latter for the “war” designation, the former for the “conflict”.

Motives of the parties

Archivist-3: Chapters IV and V attribute no motives. Is this intentional?
Editor: Yes. Accounts differ and are disputed, so motives are not presented as fact.
